Shelter description

Schronisko dla Bezdomnych Zwierząt położone jest w dzielnicy Dąbie w Częstochowie, niedaleko huty Częstochowa. Powstało w roku 1985 jako dział Zakładu Oczyszczania Miasta. Od 1 października 1991 roku prowadzenie Schroniska przejął częstochowski oddział Towarzystwa Opieki nad Zwierzętami w Polsce i prowadzi je do dziś na warunkach umowy z Zarządem Miasta Częstochowy, który finansuje Schronisko. Towarzystwo Opieki nad Zwierzętami w Polsce ma również swój ogromny wkład finansowy w utrzymanie Schroniska przez ostatnie lata. W Schronisku zatrudnionych jest obecnie 11 pracowników obsługi oraz 2 lekarzy weterynarii na 1/2 etatu. W ostatnim czasie w naszym Schronisku przebywa stale około 300 psów i 70 kotów. Jesteśmy od kilku lat w trakcie rozbudowy Schroniska. Zgodnie z projektem powstaną tutaj jeszcze takie obiekty jak: dom kota, dom szczeniaka, boksy ogólne z wybiegami, jeszcze 20 boksów kwarantanny, szpital dla psów i kotów, a także pomieszczenie dla innych zwierząt np. ptaków. Wszystko uzależnione jest oczywiście od pieniędzy.
