Celem schroniska jest, oczywiście, zapewnienie godnego bytu przebywającym tu zwierzętom: schronienia, karmy, jak najmniejszego poziomu stresu, odpowiedniej opieki weterynaryjnej, w razie potrzeby leczenia.
Ale to nie wszystko, schronisko musi być dla nich tylko przystankiem…
Podstawowym zadaniem jest więc znalezienie podopiecznym nowego domu, czyli readopcja.
W przeciwnym razie nie moglibyśmy nazywać się miłośnikami zwierząt, a schronisko zapełniałoby się w nieskończoność. Ponadto bez względu na stopień aklimatyzaji w schronisku i przywiązania do opiekunów zarówno pies jak i kot potrzebuje swojego człowieka i swojego bezpiecznego domu.
Każdy zasługuje na jeszcze jedną szansę.
Jeszce jednym ważnym celem jest ograniczanie populacji zwierząt domowych: psów i kotów, których niekontrolowane rozmnażanie prowadzi m. in. do przepełnienia schronisk. Sterylizacja jest jedynym sensownym rozwiązaniem. W coraz większym stopniu udaje nam się i ten punkt realizować.
