If you find an animal which has most likely been lost by its owner, follow these steps:
Use a microchip reader (used by veterinarians and animal shelters) to check if the animal has been implanted with a chip. If it has, check its number.
Enter the microchip number into the WORLDPETNET search bar to see which domestic database it is registered in, and then ask the database owners to contact the animal's owner. If you are given the owner's contact information, inform them that you have found their animal.
If the animal is not marked in any way, contact your nearest animal shelter or animal protection services.
You can always post an ad saying that you have found an animal!
Le marquage des animaux par puce électronique est la méthode la plus durable, efficace et absolument sûre permettant l'identification rapide et fiable des animaux. Grâce au numéro unique du transpondeur (puce), il est possible d’identifier immédiatement et de retrouver le propriétaire, et en effet, d’aider l’animal à revenir chez lui. Pourtant, il faut prendre en compte, qu’une micropuce est uniquement un transpondeur avec un numéro encodé.
