Miejskie Schronisko dla Bezdomnych Zwierząt działa już od końca lat 80. Jest całkowicie finansowane przez Urząd Miasta w Katowicach. Nasze schronisko jest umiejscowione na obrzeżach Dąbrówki Małej w Katowicach. Otoczone zielenią wtapia się w krajobraz, a zwierzęta zaznają tu ciszy i spokoju.
W naszym schronisku przebywają zarówno psy jak i koty. Dorosłe psy przebywają w dwóch pawilonach z dostępem do wybiegów, szczeniaki mają namiastkę domu
w szczeniarni, a koty rezydują w kociarni z dostępem do wybiegu. Z roku na rok staramy się poprawić los i byt naszych zwierząt, lecz pomimo starań w znalezieniu domów bezpańskim zwierzętom, ich przybywa.
Ściśle współpracujemy z Fundacją Przystanek Schronisko i ich liczną grupą wolontariuszy, którzy dzielnie działają na rzecz naszych zwierząt. Wolontariusze zajmują się pielęgnacją, szkoleniem i szukaniem domów naszym podopiecznym. Coraz częściej też są organizowane akcje mające na celu rozszerzanie wiedzy na temat schroniska, a także umożliwiające jak najlepszy kontakt naszych zwierząt ze światem zewnętrznym.

Grâce au numéro unique du transpondeur (puce), il est possible d’identifier immédiatement et de retrouver le propriétaire, et en effet, d’aider l’animal à revenir chez lui. Pourtant, il faut prendre en compte, qu’une micropuce est uniquement un transpondeur avec un numéro encodé. La micropuce ne peut pas localiser ni fournir des informations sur le propriétaire et son animal ! Pour identifier un chat ou un chien, il faut enregistrer les micropuces dans une base nationale d'animaux marqués...
